Lisa brings a wealth of experience in building relationships and awareness on wellbeing, mental health and suicide prevention with diverse clients and organisations. “Knowledge empowers people to make changes that fit their personal values to maintain positive wellbeing,” she says.
Lisa is a clinical psychologist based in Wellington and her time is divided between her private practice and working as a facilitator for Umbrella Wellbeing. Prior to becoming a clinical psychologist, Lisa had a career in the finance industry.
Lisa is passionate about building connections and relationships, and ensuring people have the knowledge they need to make positive, values-based change. She believes it is important that psychology is accessible to everyone regardless of their background, delivered in a way that is relevant and relatable. One of her favourite quotes is “wherever you go, go with all your heart” and this is a driver in both her work and personal life.
Over the past 20 years, Lisa has worked with a variety of clients and organisations with diverse backgrounds in the areas of wellbeing, mental health and suicide prevention. She has experience in providing coaching, supervision, education and training to colleagues, organisations and clinical teams, in both public and private settings. Lisa has also been an advisor on suicide prevention, and was was an advisor for the regulatory authority for all psychologists in New Zealand.
Additionally, Lisa has been a lecturer in clinical psychology at a tertiary level, including teaching interns who are training to become clinical psychologists. She is passionate about viewing wellness from a holistic perspective, which includes applying her cultural expertise to her work.
